Aug 9-11 Far East Russia- to sakhaline

Leaving Kavarovsk, and passing to maxmoto , where we made some bike work yesterday - oil change again, and change Tyres for our Japanese friend .
Some welding yesterday as well on Matteo bike who has his baggage rack and side stand broken - by the way the workshop we find is in a kind of container , with the boss speaking perfectly Japanese and really happy to speak with akira ! He offered us drinks , food, and he almost doesn't want us to pay for the repairs !

We are interviewed by the Russian TV about the trip, should be funny to see the final result !

There is 500 km to Vanino , a small port , only access to sakhaline island.
A bit of work on my bike as i lose oil, bad rubber gasket.
Finally stop over not far from a village , on the shore of the Amur Rver, beautiful.
Kind of apartment in a road motel.
everywhere beautiful forest all around and the atmosphere is much more relax around

On 10th, We leave the main road for the last 350 km. East to the pacific ocean- it rains a lot and most of the road is bad gravel turning to a slippery muddy track.
Following a river, we move between beautiful mountains , and at the end , taiga landscape
Akira slip on A wet wood bridge and fall down without damage.
Fortunately he bought new motocross boots ..

Arrival to Vanino is under the sun, and this is cool.
Looking for the ferry is quite easy as the city is small, the sport starts to try to cross to the island today - if there is a boat!
The first office (a container ..) is full of people and of course no one speak something else than russian
I ask for the boss, to make this faster and when the guy comes he tells me.... That he recognized me, he saw me and my friends at the tv yesterday ! He immediately drive me thru the processes and we end in the ticket office (that I will never find as in the harbor 5km away, in the middle of the containers ..)
Vessel is supposed to be at 10 pm tonight. But no place for us, too late, as it is only a cargo boat. And the next one is perhaps in 2 days!
Helping hard , he asked Sacha, a local biker who is used to help foreign bikers travelers and speaks some English .
Sacha invites us to their while waiting , where we are hosted with drinks and food, the guys arriving one by one - that is definitly welcoming !
They offer us to stay at their place if we are stucked to tonight, really cool people .
9pm, Sacha calls that they find a solution for us to board tonight. We rush to the harbor.
We meet another cool guy at the ticket office that help us to find something to eat in the bottom of a warhouse ,Before boarding- which happen at 3am....
No ropes to strap the bikes on the boat, and a vessel out of age in a terrible condition. We a suppose to have a cabin, but it is impossible to stay in this mess: below sea level, no ventilation , it is like the boat is going to sink today ...
Will sleep somewhere in a corridor - 18 hours of navigation in this conditions is a bit hard - no restaurant - no bar - no place to rest - welcome to Russia ...the boat is loaded with trains and trucks , only few cars and passengers and of course, no foreigners.

Temperature goes down now, and let's see what will be sakhaline, we expect to reach by night on 11 th after a day spend of the sh...t boat.
